Celebrity Cruises New “Silhouette” Comes Out Of The Shadows
Hauppauge, NY (Vocus) April 15, 2010
After considerable speculation, Celebrity Cruises (the premium brand of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd) formally announced the deployment of its newest ship, the Celebrity “Silhouetteâ€. As the fourth ship in Celebrity’s award-winning Solstice-class, the “Silhouette†will depart on her inaugural sailing July 23, 2011 with a 7-night cruise that will include Italy, Germany and Spain. Then, from August to mid-October 2011, she’ll continue with a series of unique 9 to 13-night Mediterranean and Holy Land cruises (round trip from Italy) which, depending on the sailing date selected and the length of the itinerary, will include several ports in Italy as well as Greece, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Jerusalem and / or Israel.
To Greg Coiro, CEO of Direct Line Cruises, Inc. (one of the largest cruise travel agencies in the Northeast), the second part of Celebrity Cruises announcement that was just as exciting. From November 6, 2011 to April 10 of 2012, the “Silhouette†will offer 12-night Eastern Caribbean and Southern Caribbean cruises round trip from Cape Liberty, New Jersey. The Caribbean ports of call will include St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, Labadee, San Juan, Nassau (Bahamas) and St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. As Greg explains, “The port of Cape Liberty is actually located in Bayonne, New Jersey which is right across the river from the Statue of Liberty. So, it’s less than a 2-hour drive or limo ride to the pier for our clients in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who are looking for a fabulous winter getaway.â€
Prior to the November 18 cruise, the Celebrity “Silhouette†will embark on an 11-night Transatlantic “repositioning†cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) to Cape Liberty, New Jersey with stopovers in Cagliari and Sardinia, Italy as well as Spain and Portugal. The sailing departure date is October 22, 2011. According to Greg, “The repositioning cruises are known for the exceptional value that they offer and, in addition, you only have to fly one-way to experience some of the most fascinating cities in Europe.â€
Almost immediately upon receiving the news from Celebrity Cruises about the deployment of the “Silhouetteâ€, Direct Line Cruises sent a promotional announcement to their clients (via DLC’s e-mail newsletter) offering an onboard credit of up to $ 200 per stateroom for advance bookings on the Celebrity “Silhouette†that are made by April 19, 2010. “Within hours, we started getting an avalanche of phone calls from people asking for more information, and some of our long-time clients booked right on the spot.†As Greg continues, “After all, there was a time when we started in business fifteen years ago that Direct Line Cruises exclusively promoted Celebrity Cruises from New York City. So, I’m not surprised that many of our most established clients would ‘jump’ at the opportunity to experience a brand new world-class Celebrity cruise ship that sails round-trip from Cape Liberty…particularly when its headed for the sunny Caribbean during the cold Northeast winter.â€

Hi, Bob Levinstein, from www.CruiseCompete.com here to explain how CruiseCompete works. CruiseCompete operates under a very simple concept you select cruise you want to take, and independent travel agents compete to offer you the best deal. You compare the offers in your account, then contact the agent or agents with the best offers directly via phone, e-mail or live chat to ask questions or to book. Since our launch in 2003, more than a million customer quote requests have gone through the CruiseCompete system with outstanding results. The price for the exact same ship, sail date and cabin varies by agency based on a lot of complicated factors, so theres no way to know in advance which agency will have the best deal on the cruise you want And because agencies arent allowed to advertise anything but the cruise lines standard retail prices on their web sites, theres only one only way to get the best cruise deals: ·You have to know which of the thousands of travel agencies are likely to have the best deals; ·Then you have to ask them for one-on-one quotes for your sailing and compare. CruiseCompete is an easy and convenient way to help you do just that. First, choose the cruise that you want quotes on. If you dont know what you want, we provide a number of tools to help. You can use our cruise search tool, you can browse special offers by category, or you call or chat online with an agent via our Live Help link. Next, create a CruiseCompete account by selecting a username …

Direct Line Cruises Welcomes Celebrity Cruises to NY-NJ Market
Hauppauge, NY (PRWEB) March 10, 2009
After a two-year absence, Celebrity Cruises has just announced that they will resume cruises to Bermuda round-trip from Bayonne, New Jersey (across from the Statue of Liberty) starting in 2010. Better yet, these 7-night Bermuda cruises will be on the 5-star Celebrity Summit, one of the elegant Millennium-class ships.
To celebrate the good news, a festive “Celebrity Is Back” party was held for the staff at Direct Line Cruises on March 6, hosted by Marie La Cava of Celebrity Cruises. In explaining why this particular deployment was so significant, Marie offered this historical perspective. “Although Celebrity Cruises merged with Royal Caribbean in 1997 and now offers cruises to virtually every corner of the world, Celebrity Cruises has its roots right here when it started offering 7-night cruises to Bermuda round-trip from New York City on the Celebrity Meridian back in 1989″. Adding to that perspective, Greg Coiro, CEO of Direct Line Cruises recalled that “When Direct Line Cruises started in business nearly 15 years ago, almost 90% of the cruises we booked were Celebrity cruises to Bermuda. So, although Direct Line Cruises has expanded dramatically over time, our company is also deeply rooted in this product.”
So, the return of Celebrity to Bermuda cruises from the New York – New Jersey area is quite a homecoming event. To spread the good news to its long-time clients (including hundreds who had already requested details about these NJ – Bermuda sailings as soon as Celebrity made the official announcement), Direct Line Cruises announced a two-week advance sale promotion featuring onboard credits up to $ 100 for reservations on the Celebrity Summit that are made between March 6 and March 19, 2009, in addition to free travel insurance and special introductory rates. This promotion applies to the regular 7-night Bermuda cruises on Celebrity Summit from Cape Liberty, New Jersey as well as the 7-night and 14-night Canada / New England sailings on that ship from Cape Liberty.
With the Celebrity Summit sailing round-trip from the New York – New Jersey area and the Celebrity Mercury sailing round-trip from Baltimore, Maryland (the second largest market for Direct Line Cruises), Greg Coiro predicts that “2010 is going to be a very big year for us and Celebrity Cruises”.

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises Give an Encore Performance
Hauppauge, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) December 22, 2010
“It’s like the Academy Awards for the travel industry…” said Helen Coiro, President of Direct Line Cruises, Inc., after attending Travel Weekly’s Readers Choice Awards Dinner last night at the famed Plaza Hotel in New York City. Mrs. Coiro, who along with her husband, Tom, were invited as guests of Royal Caribbean International, then added, “…and, what made it even more exciting is that our friends at Royal Caribbean and Celebrity stole the show.”
Surpassing their extraordinary success at the 2009 Travel Weekly Awards (at which they won an unprecedented seven awards), Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises (the two largest brands of Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD) collectively took home a total of nine awards at this year’s Eighth Annual Readers Choice event. Celebrity won “Best Cruise Line: Europe”, “Best Cruise Line: Premium” and “Best Cruise Ship: Premium” for their world-class Celebrity Solstice. Royal Caribbean won “Best Cruise Line: Domestic”, “Best Cruise Line: Caribbean”, “Best Cruise Line Overall” and the coveted “Best Cruise Line: Sales and Service” award which is a testament to the cooperation and support that the cruise line provides to their travel agent partners. In addition, Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas (the largest cruise ship in the world along with her sister ship Allure of the Seas) won two awards; “Best Cruise Ship: Rookie” and Best Cruise Ship: Overall Individual.”
Several other well-known cruise lines (such as Carnival, Holland America, Norwegian and Princess) were also nominated in each of the ten award categories for which Celebrity and Royal Caribbean were eligible but, when the evening was over, only one award went to any of the competing cruise lines. “It was a near sweep,” said Greg Coiro, CEO of Direct Line Cruises, Inc. who attended as a guest of Celebrity Cruises. “The entire audience applauded and cheered louder and louder each time Dondra Ritzenthaler (Senior Vice President of Sales for Celebrity Cruises) and Vicki Freed (Senior Vice President of Sales for Royal Caribbean International) went up to the stage to accept another award.”
Among those cheering for Ms. Ritzenthaler and Ms. Freed was Edie Bornstein, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for “sister company” Azamara Club Cruises. With a keen eye for style and elegance
that is so much a part of the upscale Azamra brand, Ms. Bornstein observed that, “Dondra and Vicki look absolutely stunning and it’s so great to keep these awards in the family”.
In the final tribute of the night, Richard Fain, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD was honored as one of four recipients of Travel Weekly’s Lifetime Achievement Award. During his acceptance speech, Mr. Fain displayed both his wit and humility to which the audience enthusiastically responded, especially when he openly acknowledged the importance of travel agents in the past, present and future success of the industry.
After the event, Helen Coiro reflected back to when she started Direct Line Cruises, working from a small desk in the basement of her house. “Fifteen years ago, I never would have imagined that I’d be sitting at a table front and center at the Plaza Hotel, rubbing elbows with top executives from Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. This is an amazing business and it was truly a magical evening.”

Guests of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Cruises Enjoy More Options, Peace of Mind with New ChoiceAir
Miami (Vocus) July 28, 2009
Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Cruises today announced ChoiceAir, a convenient new way for guests to purchase air transportation to and from their cruise. With ChoiceAir, guests will enjoy greater peace of mind; be able to select their preferred airline and a specific itinerary; and shop for the best prices among published fares and exclusive ChoiceAir specials. Unlike traditional programs, guests will know their airline itinerary as soon as they are ready to choose it, and – as with traditional air programs – there is a support team available to support guests before, during, and after they travel. ChoiceAir will be available to guests from the U.S. and Canada beginning August 3, 2009.
“The new ChoiceAir is a best-in-class program that will provide guests with convenience, flexibility, value, and support when it comes to the air transportation portion of their vacation,” said Doug Santoni, senior vice president of Revenue Management, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. “Our guests and our travel partners have told us they value the support we provide as part of our traditional air programs, but that they would also like a full choice of competitive air fares and schedules, and to be able to select their itinerary at the time they book their cruise. With ChoiceAir, we are responding to our customers’ wishes.”
Guests will be able to purchase ChoiceAir through a travel agent, directly from Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises contact centers, and online through a new ChoiceAir website. Travel agents will be able to purchase ChoiceAir for their clients through CruisingPower.com, the three cruise lines’ dedicated site for travel professionals. A cost of $ 15 per person for domestic and $ 25 per person for international air travel will apply to ChoiceAir bookings, and will include access to the ChoiceAir support desk, aid in cases of flight delays, and assistance in making alternative flight arrangements in the event of missed embarkation. Guests’ cruise and air arrangements will both be present in a single consolidated booking record, creating greater convenience for travel agents, who would no longer need to manage two separate and independent bookings.
